Heino meets Rammstein

Tony Bennett doing a cover of ZZ Top does not even remotely convey the image.

German crooner Heino, a popular music icon of the last century, now in his mid seventies, has begun to cover songs by German brutalo rock band Rammstein.

The metal men have returned the favor by covering some of Heino's old tunes. All of this had been good natured until someone thought it would be fun to declare this as a serious battle of the giants.

Someone being the tabloid Bild, who else.

The Bild Zeitung, known to older Germans as "the thinking man's toilet paper" for its essential role in the declining days of the outhouse, is still a perfect example of what not to do with perfectly good trees.

The fierce and intense rockers of Rammstein saw themselves forced to state on their Facebook page that they were surprised by a Bild report about a dispute with Heino regarding him covering their song "Sonne".

There is no dispute, say the rockers.

To the K-landnews, this statement is an incentive to go and see one of their shows.
