What Would Jesus Do?

Study into catholic church abuse stopped in Germany.

The news last week reported that a comprehensive study into abuses had been stopped by the Conference of Catholic Bishops of Germany.
True to our policy on posts about religion, as stated in "Click generously", we set out to find someone with some sort of catholic life experience to write a post.

Supremely lucky bastards, we found not just a catholic but a former altar boy!

We conducted a long interview and present a few core excerpts here.

Former Altar Boy (FAB): No, no priest ever behaved inappropriately toward me. A couple of the older boys were unpleasant, but that's a common behavior among boys, older ones bullying younger ones.

K-landnews (K): Were you surprised the study fell through?

FAB: Hell no [flashes big grin]. The catholic church has a little under 2000 consecutive years of organizational history, you can call them masters of stalling, what are another one hundred years to them...

K: What would Jesus do?

FAB: W.W.J.D, as you guys say in America...well, who knows. Even altar boys don't have a direct line, so, it's a guess, he would most likely not be happy. And as to whether he would praise the German "pay to pray" system, that Toll Road to Heaven, I doubt that, too.

K: You are familiar with the term disgruntled employee? Would you say you are a disgruntled believer?

FAB: No, I am not. I dislike the organization but that does not mean the belief has no place in people's heart. It's probably just as well that Jesus is not here today to see how they chicken out. If Jesus were around today, some of those very people would brand him a terrorist, and the little clay birds boy Jesus made fly, can you see how some wingnuts would interpret them as drones?

K: Will there be more investigation into abuse, in your opinion?

FAB: I guess, yes, there will be. Piecemeal, half-hearted or whatever, but the subject won't go away anytime soon.
